Let Market Source Real Estate's Newest Realtor Be Your Anchor of Support

Karly Nielsen, Salt Lake City, Utah realtor Market Source Real Estate Karly Nielsen

You know those people who are just so steady?  They’re the ones who aren't phased by a cranky child accidentally getting cherry popsicle on their new suit. Or, who have 20 different things to do between work and dinner but you’d never know it because they’re calmly smiling and asking you about YOUR day.  Well, Karly Nielsen is one of those people.

A consummate professional and caring personality, Karly refined her instincts for sales and deal acumen with a business degree from Brigham Young University, which she partly financed through early jobs in the real estate industry. She then mastered the art of connecting with people while living in New York, and Los Angeles.  Lucky for us, she and her family decided Utah was the place for them. Karly is now the newest member of our Market Source Real Estate team, and we’ve been floored by her drive, intelligence, and energy ever since.

Q: What sparked you to become a realtor?

Karly: I love people, and I love that I can pull in so many of my skills and life experience into real estate.  I spent a year investigating the [real estate] industry. I read. I interviewed agents. I spoke with people who know me well, and I confidently chose being a realtor as my new profession. I’ve been able to draw on the skills I learned from the Marriott School of Management. I can incorporate my favorite hobby, photography. I’m able to help clients organize their homes and stage them to sell. I’m able to form life-long relationships with my clients because I care about my people

Q: What excites you about showing a house?

K: Buying or selling a home can be a delicate and emotional experience. For most Americans, their home is their greatest financial asset. I get excited before the house, when I know I’m helping to make the dream of home-ownership a reality for someone. I am honored to work with my clients to help them navigate the sometimes rocky or scary waters of relocating and purchasing or selling a home.

Q: What are some of your favorite things about living in SLC, Utah?

K: I recently returned from a vacation to Southern California. After battling an overcrowded, mismanaged, competitive environment, I was once again reminded of the all the things I love about our big, little city. Life truly is elevated here, one is not just surviving, rather thriving. Utah is one of the country’s fastest growing cities, No. 5, according to Forbes. We have a strong employment rate (2nd best in the nation), diverse western economy, and even a new light rail system luring both housing and jobs along its corridor.

Me and my family of six moved to the Sugar House neighborhood nearly five years ago after living in New York City and Los Angeles. We bought our first home in the Harvard/Yale neighborhood because of the proximity to downtown, exceptional schools and unique charm and neighborhood vibe. We appreciate appreciate the sense of pride and community that many strive for in our area.
